Mission Statement

The Sangamon Pathways to Learning is a collaborative network of education leaders, commerce partners, and public agencies dedicated to expanding equitable educational opportunities across the full continuum of learning- from early childhood through career readiness. We leverage data to inform decisions, advocate for effective policy, and unite community agencies to coordinate collective initiatives that support seamless learning and career pathways. Our shared goal is to empower individuals and strengthen the economic and social fabric of Sangamon County.

Inaugural Meeting of the Alliance

At its core, Sangamon Pathways to Learning is about ensuring that individuals and families experience learning as a connected, intentional pathway rather than a series of fragmented programs. By aligning efforts across early childhood, K–12 education, postsecondary access, and workforce development, we can reduce duplication, close gaps, and strengthen the transitions that are critical for long-term success.

This work is being supported by a group of backbone organizations committed to establishing the structure and supporting the collaboration, including University of Illinois Springfield, Sangamon Growth Alliance, the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, Birth to Five Illinois, Lincoln Land Community College, United Way of Central Illinois, and District 186.

However, the success of this effort will depend on having the right partners at the table. No single organization can build a true cradle-to-career pathway alone. Your organization’s perspective and expertise are an important part of the system we are trying to build.

We hope you will join us for the inaugural meeting of Sangamon Pathways to Learning:

Wednesday, April 29th
3:00 PM

United Way Office: 1999 W Wabash Ave, Suite 107

This meeting will bring together organizations from across sectors to learn about the initiative, discuss the collaborative structure, and begin shaping how we move forward together.

We truly believe this effort will only succeed if the organizations doing the work every day are part of the conversation.
