For Kaitlin Bostick, giving back isn't just meaningful, it's fun!
Kaitlin wears many hats in her role at Girl Scouts of Central Illinois. But for the past four years, she's also taken on the role of Employee Campaign Coordinator (ECC) leading the charge for her organization's annual United Way campaign.
"As our staff member who works most closely with area United Ways, I continuously see the impact United Way has on our community," Kaitlin shared. "I wanted to pass that awareness and excitement on to our staff."
And what better way to do that than a daily United Way Bingo?
Each campaign season, Kaitlin creates bingo cards filled with creative incentives. Staff members "buy" cards by donating, and every hour on the hour, she emails out a new square. The first person to get a full bingo wins all the prizes in their row. The excitement is contagious. "It's been wildly successful," Kaitlin said. "Staff ask for it to come back every year!"
But Kaitlin's motivation goes beyond games and prizes. "At Girl Scouts, we serve girls, and we do an amazing job at that! But for every girl we serve, there's a brother or a parent or grandparent we don't serve through our program," she explained. "The United Way can...and does. It truly takes a village, and we are proud to work alongside United Way of Central Illinois and its other partner programs to support our community."
Her advice to other ECCs? "Do it! You'll learn so much about the great things happening around you, and the impact United Way makes on local lives."
Kaitlin Bostick proves that when you combine creativity, leadership, and heart, you can spark lasting change and have a little fun along the way!
