Cinda's Story: Thriving thanks to United Way

For Cinda, a senior in our community, reliable transportation has been life-changing. Thanks to United Way funded senior transportation services, she's able to remain active, stay engaged with community groups, and continue building connections that enrich her life.

Getting out of the house regularly has given Cinda more than just a ride. It's given her socialization. It's given her friendship. It's given her independence. She enjoys attending local activities, being a part of groups that matter to her, and staying connected to the people around her.

One of the things she appreciates most is the caring and friendly staff who make each trip enjoyable. "They are always so kind and welcoming," Cinda shares. That warmth creates an environment where she can feel safe and supported.

Beyond getting her from place to place, the bus drivers are specially trained to help seniors like Cinda access additional resources if they need them. Whether it's connecting to community programs, finding extra support services, or simply providing encouragement, drivers go above and beyond to ensure every rider feels cared for.

For seniors, transportation is more than just a convenience. It can be a lifeline to independence, dignity, and belonging. Without it, many would face isolation and barriers to accessing essential services. With it, seniors like Cinda thrive, staying active and connected in the community they call home.

United Way is proud to support programs that provide these critical services, helping our older neighbors not only meet their needs but also continue contributing to the vibrant community we all share.
