UWCIL Food Insecurity Fund

With SNAP benefits on hold, people in our community suddenly cannot meet their needs and will struggle to feed their families unless provided support.  With funding and resources currently inaccessible, our neighbors need our help to provide food for their children and families while this emergency persists.

To ensure our citizens are fed while resources are suspended, UWCIL has opened a Food Insecurity Fund to provide funding to local pantries across Sangamon and Menard county.

Emily's family is just one example. She has found herself standing in line at the local food pantry more often recently due to higher prices at the grocery store. Despite working full-time, her paycheck barely covers rent, childcare, and transportation. Emily is part of the ALICE population, and her family is one of many affected by this crisis. Learn more about this crisis here.
