A Journey of Place and Purpose

I grew up in a suburb of Sydney, Australia, where my childhood was filled with camping trips, beaches, and long days exploring the bush. Those experiences shaped who I am and where I feel most at home. Even now, being outside is what recharges me. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me kayaking, camping, or walking in the woods with my dog.

I’ve lived a lot of life before finding my place at United Way of Central Illinois, and that journey has given me a deep appreciation for the people and communities that shape us along the way. What I’ve learned is that there is always more to understand about what makes a community strong and how we are all connected.

I feel incredibly fortunate to do work that is based on relationships. This past year, I’ve had the chance to meet and build relationships with so many people across our community. Every conversation and connection adds a little more depth to my understanding of this place and the people who care so deeply about it.
