Funding Priorities

Investing in Our Community's Future: 2026 - 2029 Funding Priorities

United Way of Central Illinois is excited to announce our 2026 - 2029 grant funding priorities. This strategic framework is designed to address the most critical needs facing our neighbors and build a stronger, more resilient community.

Through extensive community engagement and data-driven analysis, we've identified four priority areas where targeted investment will create the greatest impact:

Our Four Priorities

Youth Opportunity: Every child deserves a strong foundation for learning. We're supporting programs that strengthen kindergarten readiness, improve early literacy and math skills, and engage parents as active partners in a child's success.

Community Resiliency: When crisis strikes, people need more than just short-term relief. United Way funding will create a pathway to stability. We're committed to providing safe, supportive crisis services and connecting individuals to longer-term resources like housing, counseling, and food assistance.'

Healthy Community: United Way knows that mental and behavioral health are essential to well-being. We're ensuring everyone can access affordable mental health support, reducing barriers to care, and building confidence in managing mental wellness.

Financial Security: Financial stability is the foundation for a thriving home and community. We're empowering adults through financial education, employment opportunities, skill building, and access to safe and affordable housing.

Measurable Goals & Real Results

Each priority includes specific, measurable goals that will be tracked in reports to United Way to ensure accountability.

  • 70% of children meeting or showing progress toward early learning milestones
  • 60% of crisis service users connected to longer-term support
  • 75% of clients in health programs will be connected with needed mental or behavioral health services
  • 70% of adults achieving key financial independence milestones
